Welcome to the home of Docs on Ice 2015 – London.
The upcoming tournament promises to be an exciting one and is booked for April 9th to 11th! Hosted in the hometown of some of the NHL’s most acclaimed players (Eric Lindros, Jeff Hackett and Joe Thornton to name a few), you can expect two great days of hockey and entertainment in the Forest City.
Over the past 32 years, Docs (Doctors of Ontario Charity) on Ice has raised more than $1 million for charity. Founded in memory of Dr. Peter Howes, who himself was an avid hockey player, the tournament has steadily grown in size since its inception and has been hosted all over Ontario. Supported causes have ranged from the Ontario Lung Association to funding for a youth brain concussion program. Last year, Docs on Ice raised an unprecedented $330,000 in cash and goods-in-kind for the Canadian Mental Health Association serving York Region and South Simcoe.
As we head into 2015, we’re proud to partner with Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada – the only nationwide organization dedicated to helping people diagnosed with any kind of brain tumour.
If you’ve played in Docs on Ice previously, you’ll soon get a notice to sign up for the coming year. If you’re new to the tournament, registration will open in early 2015.
We look forward to seeing you in London for Docs on Ice next year!
